5 Day-Trips to Consider During Your Lehigh Resort Club Vacation

Plan a Day-trip from Lehigh Acres, Fl

Naples (1 hour)
Located just an hour away from Lehigh Resort Club, Naples, Florida is known for its high-end shopping and white sand beaches along the Gulf Coast. The city is home to an array of retail and dining districts and features two major attractions you won’t want to miss during your Florida vacation: the Naples Zoo and the Naples Botanical Garden.
Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is a nationally-accredited zoo and nonprofit that combines recreation and conservation to deliver a fun and educational attraction for locals and visitors alike. Follow the nearly mile-long paved route throughout the zoo and observe exotic plants and animals, such as lions, giraffes, monkeys, and snakes!
The Naples Botanical Garden is a nonprofit organization founded in 1993, which seeks to protect the habitats of flora and ecological cultures found between the 26th latitudes. The Botanical Garden welcomes more than 220,000 visitors each year and exhibits a variety of plant species through year-round displays, as well as seasonal events.
Make the quick drive from Lehigh Acres to Naples to experience these two nature-centric destinations.

Sanibel Island (just over 1 hour)
Just over an hour’s drive away from Lehigh Resort Club, you’ll find the incomparable beaches of Sanibel Island. This barrier island is easily accessible via the causeway and is known for its shell-filled beaches. It’s also home to a vast network of ecological conservation, with more than half of the island comprised of wildlife refuges.
Spend an hour or two walking the shoreline at Bowman’s Beach, where you’re sure to find beautiful, unique seashells, and then take a tour of the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum. Don’t forget to make a stop at the Sanibel Lighthouse, constructed in 1884 and one of the oldest lighthouses on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Everglades National Park (2 hours)
With only a handful of national park destinations found throughout the southeastern United States, we recommend spending one day of your Lehigh Resort Club vacation taking in the sights and sounds of Everglades National Park. Located only two hours south of our resort, the Gulf Coast Visitor Center allows access to the national park on Florida’s southwestern side.

From there, you can take part in the park’s Ten Thousand Island Cruise, which takes visitors through a maze of mangrove islands. This 90-minute excursion provides a glimpse into the ecosystems, which span more than a million acres throughout the state. Not only is it an esteemed national park, but the Everglades region is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a designated Wetland of International Importance.

Tampa (2.5 hours)
Roughly 2.5 hours northwest of Lehigh Resort Club lies Tampa, Florida, the second-largest metropolitan area in the state and home to a variety of popular attractions, including the Florida Aquarium and Busch Gardens.

The Florida Aquarium is situated in downtown Tampa and houses more than 14,000 animals within its facilities. The aquarium includes exhibits that detail the range of animal habitats found throughout Florida, from freshwater springs to the waters surrounding the Keys. Visitors can also enjoy a sensory experience by taking in a showing at the aquarium’s 4-D theater.

Busch Gardens amusement park combines the thrill of a theme park with the fun of a zoo to bring visitors a hybrid experience that includes exciting roller coasters, live shows, up-close encounters with wildlife and more. The African-themed park provides plenty of activities and attractions for everyone in your vacation group.

Orlando (3 hours)
